INTRODUCTION TO BOTOX

Intro to BOTOX

Botox Injections

Botox is short for Botulinum toxin derived from the bacteria, Clostridium Botulinum. It is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment worldwide. Botox works by reducing fine lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the underlying muscles. As we age, the elasticity of our skin is lost and wrinkles appear most prominently. This happens because of muscle contraction. And if muscles are relaxed, so skin flattens and wrinkles greatly improves or even disappear in some cases. Botox works in a similar manner. Injections are injected only into the muscles we wish to paralyze. The procedure is very safe because microscopic amounts of botulinum are used.

Botox Injections in the forehead

Botox is most effective in reducing wrinkles in forehead area located between the eyes. Actually muscles present at this location are least useful so these can be paralyzed completely. And results are great.

Botox Injections on face

The area around the eyes and forehead are the best areas for botox injections. But we cannot treat every wrinkle on the face because obviously, we don’t want to paralyze muscles that are needed for facial expressions. Fewer toxins are injected around the mouth to allow for movements of lips.

Forehead muscles which help in the lifting of eyebrows are very important, so we administer botox injections carefully in order to protect these functions.

Botox administration at Hi-tech med spa

Trained professionals at Hi-tech med spa use a very small needle to inject botox in your muscle. So, the tiny prick is felt during the procedure. We assess the needs of the client and accordingly his treatment is planned.

How long do botox lasts?

Effects of Botox do not become apparent the same day of treatment received. Results typically are seen following 2 to 10 days of treatment. Effects last for 4 to 5 months. But it is not in every case because some patients may also develop immunity to the toxin. So, the effect may not last this long ion such patients.

Are botox safe?

The whole procedure and treatment are really very safe when administered by trained professionals. But it can also result in serious consequences if done by untrained people. So, it is very important to receive your Botox only under the direction of a board certified plastic surgeon and his/her team.
